The Fancy Kook

I ADORE this place. Super friendly staff, cozy cafe vibes, lovely to stay plates and cups, and phenomenal pastries and food. Also they just started doing gluten free pastries!! I’ve been gluten free for about 4/5 years now and it’s really awesome they offer such tasty gf treats. I specifically Love their strawberry cake right now, super flavorful and not dry at All like other gluten free pastries I’ve found around the city. Bonus points—there’s a bathroom for customers!! You really can’t go wrong with anything here, it’s all worth it!

My new favorite UES cafe! This place is so cozy and has a rustic farm feel. They offer cute holiday drinks, delicious bread and cake, and a gingersnap with every offer. Laptops are only allowed at high tops, and no sandwiches, so just keep that in mind if you're looking to work from home.

The Kook is top tier! The atmosphere & service is amazing. It’s conducive to plugging away at work on your laptop, meeting a friend, or grabbing a novel & diving in (they have a sweet little take a book leave a book library). There’s various comfortable seating options, & the baristas are all super skilled & friendly. I get their espresso or cold-brew – it’s easily the most delicious coffee on the UES. The cookies & pastries are NEXT LEVEL, they get really creative with the variety they make & are always trying new flavors. The strawberry white chocolate cookie is my current favorite. Their savory food & sandwiches also smack. If you want exceptional coffee, food, & vibes – or ESPECIALLY if you have a sweet tooth, you’d be doing yourself a disservice by not going to The Fancy Kook.

So so cute. Hard to find coffee shops like this anymore. The hot drinks and sweet snacks are lovely. They have table seating for analog/cell phone guests and rail seating for laptop guests. A humorous sensibility about the place. My favorite part were the mugs fashioned after a body with a fleshy tummy so you could grab the “love handle.”

Lovely vibe on the weekends with cute mugs and a shot of OJ. Came here to journal and read and the music playlist was great. Just fyi They minimize laptop use at the tables and only allow it at the high tops

The Fancy Kook is a hidden gem! The coffee is top-notch, and the food is delicious with a creative flair. Cozy atmosphere and friendly staff make it a must-visit spot!, and enjoy the music.

I visited this coffee shop during a rainy day and it was the perfect, cozy space :). We ordered hot latte with oat milk which came in a really cute mug. They gave a small cup of orange juice with a small cookie as a compliment. We also ordered carrot cake with pumpkin spice and cream cheese icing. It was definitely made in house as the quality of the cake and icing was very nice. We will definitely be back!

The Fancy Kook has the most creative and delicious pastries and cookies I’ve had in the neighborhood. Amazing Service and Smiles they always remember my name when I come in and the coffee is as good as the pastries. Atmosphere is warm with great music in the background.
